It is one year or so since I joined the Talend open source software provider.
Talend is the first company to provide open source software tools for the ETL market. The company’s solutions break rank with the market by supplying open, innovative and more powerful software. Talend’s software is distributed under open source license.
During the first months, I helped to develop the beta version of one of its first solutions: the Talend Open Studio software. That was a true comeback as I was no longer used to tackle software development only. So, here I was again as a Java developer based on Eclipse. Creating RCP applications was new to me.
Talend has signed partnership agreements with key industry players including JasperSoft or MySQL. With operations in Europe, the United States and China, the company provides support, training and consulting services for its solutions.
I have been creating training tools related to Talend Open Studio. Our goal is:
- To provide new users tools for free to handle the Talend software (tutorials, the project TalendDemos)
- To develop Talend services so that:
- users in the very beginning of their projects are helped through training
- partners handle Talend tools and knowledge in order to include these new courses in their catalogs
- elearning solutions are made available in and outside France
