Talend Open Studio v2.3.2 has recently been released. Please download it now and check all what it has to offer you!
How to discover the new version? To get ready-to-use Job Designs at your disposal, you need to import the Demo Project included in Talend Open Studio. Don’t know whether your most wanted component is already included in Talend Open Studio? Simply access the exhaustive list of components, and check out the real-time udpates.
The User Guide (in pdf) describes in details the interface as well as the application functionalities. The User Guide is available in French and English and is regularly updated – the last updates were published on 2008-03-19.
Compared to the last version 2.3b, the documentation is divided in two documents for more readability and clearness:
- the user guide for the application
- Getting started with Talend Open Studio
- Designing a Business Model
- Designing a Job Design
- Managing jobs & projects
- the guide for the components
- This pdf details the major components that you can find in the Palette of Talend Open Studio (technical informations + scenario)
I advice you to read only the User Guide to get all the tools and techniques you need to fully leverage the potential of Talend Open Studio. The Components References Guide is a technical reference, don’t read it like a Bible but use it only when you need a very accurate piece of information. Why such an advice? Because the References Guide is accessible directly in the software: you only need to select a component on a Job Design and press F1! The view Help displays the technical information and the scenario. See the illustration below:
